napa in black and white

napa in black and white

I have been working with photography a lot lately. Check out my photos over at flickr.com http://flickr.com/photos/yodamon/ Here is one of my latest submissions. I took this in Napa last year and it has been hiding on my hard drive all this time. At first I dismissed this this photo because in the color it had little appeal. In black and white it took on another life. You be the judge. -yo

I was enjoying a fire in the backyard and suddenly the crickets stopped chirping and our cats darted to the far corners of the yard. I turned around and a big raccoon was walking behind me about 5 yards away. It jumped the fence and I got the girls to come take a look. It came back and I got it's picture. It hung around for 20 minutes or so. We have never had any raccoons here before.

Last weekend, by the Sparks Ness Monster (who we have not seen in 8-12 months) lake, a lightning fire broke out and spread to 40 acres. Vista was closed for 5 hours and the only way to Banestone was on Pyramid.

From my family on my wife's side are great lofts. These are build by Pam and Kelly on Center street in Reno and are knowns as "8 on Center". What a fantastic place to live. Jordan thinks they are fantastic. "These are designed by award winning architect Jack Hawkins , who also designed LouLou's and the Stremmel Gallery. This urban loft showcases cutting edge design principals while keeping comfort and accessibility in mind. A true urban loft in Reno." Check out more photos at (click here)

I got the truck detailed this weekend and I found a new ding in the driver door. I'm not sure what they were doing but it looks like crap. The detail job wasn't even that good as you can see.

We stayed at a great bed and breakfast, Querencia Inn in Murphys California. It is located on the top of a hill in the Sierra foothills in gold country. Look at these images of the upper portion and the views from the railing. This was one of the best inns that I have ever been to. The owners made us and my wife's sister and husband feel like family. The house is an artistic endever that is on 40 acres of prime Sierra foothills. The food was fantastic and the most creative I've ever had. Go to their web site http://www.Querencia.ws and see why.
